I’ve been ‘under canvas’ over the last three days with a small group of lads doing one of their tramps for their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
This is our third son to go through the scheme and it has been excellent. Central Hawkes Bay College has really bought into the programme and has more graduating with their gold at Government House each year than any other school. Often between a dozen and twenty young people.
We drove through the verdant spring pastures of Puketapu, Rissington and Patoka as we headed towards the higher district of Puketitiri.
